“His legacy definitely is his support for using his words to persuade other people of the rightness of his positions. But he himself would tell you that his ultimate legacy [is] that he was motivated by the love of his Savior, Jesus Christ. That’s a comfort for those of us who are Christian, knowing that he died in Christ, which means that he lives forever with Christ,” The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway said on Varney. “But yes, politically, he was also a very important person. He wasn’t just martyred, he was assassinated for his political viewpoints, and it is very important to take that seriously because he was such an advocate of the things our country is about. There are people who are trying to destroy what the country is about, and he [has] now faced the ultimate example of that.”
