With ‘The Strange Death of Europe,’ Douglas Murray makes worthy entry in the burgeoning genre of books on Europe’s immigration challenges and cultural decline. But like other authors before him, he offers no cure for what’s ailing the continent.
The main issue with open immigration arguments is that it always ignores one key facet: the culture. It matters whether the West imports immigrants who believe in, say, honor killings.
In yet another painful example of the chasm between the elite and a public demanding common sense, the European Union demands that reporters not publish the fact that a given terrorist is a Muslim.
To pretend we’re facing the same cultural crisis as Europe would be laughable if it weren’t so intellectually dishonest and irresponsible.
