Celebrated writer Dave Eggers has written a mostly compelling novel about immigrants and American entrepreneurship that gets sidetracked by a pointless desire to affirm liberal politics.
Four years ago Dave Eggers wrote ‘The Circle,’ a novel about a tech giant and social media company that destroys lives by eradicating privacy and our sense of personal identity. It’s starting to look increasingly like a work of nonfiction.
The film doesn’t really do full justice to its source material. But it’s still highly watchable, and succeeds as a powerful conversation starter.
