Democrats in Virginia removed the last three remaining Confederate statues from Richmond’s Capitol Square on Friday in a move proving left-wing forces have not relented in their war on American culture and heritage.
The scene in Richmond was far from the “Woke 1” distinction Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., made in an attempt to brush off the crazed rioting and censorship of the early 2020s, which included the toppling of numerous statues, many of which were not Confederate. Rather, the Soviet-style revisionism tracks more closely with the campaign of Gov. Abigail Spanberger, D-Va. — a self-proclaimed moderate who lied to the electorate to obtain power, only to usher in the most abusive government Virginia has ever seen.
It is a playbook that countless Democrats across the country will repeat, but as per the cultural revolutionary blueprint, these statue removals are once again only the beginning of a broader offensive against the American people.
The statues of Gen. Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, Gov. William “Extra Billy” Smith, and Doctor Hunter Holmes McGuire were torn down Friday after Virginia’s Democrat-led government passed a budget mandating the removal in June.
The Jackson statue was the oldest of the three, having been cast in 1875, but was planned before the Civil War ended. English admirers of the general put together the funds shortly after his death, when he succumbed to pneumonia after being shot at Chancellorsville in 1863.
Corporate media outlets like The Washington Post claim Jackson was a “lifelong defender of slavery,” but like his contemporary Gen. Robert E. Lee, who famously called the institution “a moral and political evil,” Jackson’s view seems to be more complicated as well.
Jackson ran a Sunday school for enslaved and free black students, focused on teaching the Bible and “encourag[ing] literacy among his students,” likely running afoul of state law. According to Jackson’s wife Anna, “His interest in that race was simply because they had souls to save.”
Some of Jackson’s slaves were also acquired under unique circumstances, like his first one Albert, who asked Jackson to purchase him so that he could work to afford his freedom, according to author S.C. Gwynne. His second slave, Amy, also asked Jackson to buy her, and after becoming ill, the Jackson family cared for her. Another slave was an orphaned girl with a learning disability.
Democrats interested primarily in degradation cannot be bothered with those details, because the toppling of the statues, in and of itself, is the win.
McGuire, whose statue was built in 1904, was a wartime surgeon, and while he was unable to save Jackson’s life, he did save the lives of many others. According to David Marcus, writing in Fox News, McGuire can be credited with many humanitarian wartime principles expressed in the Geneva Convention, including treating doctors rendering aid to soldiers as noncombatants and releasing prisoner-of-war doctors.
He did this under Jackson’s command, and the Winchester Accord was later included in the Geneva Convention.
Democrat state Sen. Mike Jones said that the statues require removal because he saw “white only, colored only pictures in my mother’s scrapbook.”
“Put ’em in a museum, put a greater historical context around them,” he added. But decisions to remove the states are made by people who have no concept of history at all, as evidenced especially in the removal of McGuire.
With the upcoming midterms setting up to be rocky for Republicans, and a nascent communist movement sweeping certain parts of the country with successful Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) candidates, it appears Democrats feel an opportunity to advance.
“The more powerful enemy can be vanquished only by exerting the utmost effort, and by the most thorough, careful, attentive, skilful and obligatory use of any, even the smallest, rift between the enemies … and also by taking advantage of any, even the smallest, opportunity of winning a mass ally, even though this ally is temporary, vacillating, unstable, unreliable and conditional,” Vladimir Lenin wrote in “Left-Wing” Communism: An Infantile Disorder.
The riots, grooming, and race wars are sure to follow.
The only silver lining of the removals is that they will not face the same fate as the Lee and Jackson statues removed from Charlottesville in 2017, the former of which was melted and destroyed, and the latter of which was defiled and contorted into some kind of demonic chimera in Los Angeles.
The statues removed from Richmond have been given to the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation, which will ultimately decide what to do with them.
“Preservation is more about the future than the past, and ensuring the preservation of the Capitol Square monuments is a part of that clear vision,” Keven Walker, the group’s CEO, said in a statement. “At the core of all we do is the belief that our shared history can unite the people of our nation; that there is strength and inspiration for our own times to be found in the struggles of the past.”
