Getty Wedding Guest List Shows Exactly Who California’s Political Elite Are Listening To

If you were lucky, you might’ve seen billionaire oil heiress Ivy Love Getty strut up San Fransisco City Hall’s red carpet-lined steps in her couture wedding gown last weekend. Or, you might’ve witnessed police contain hundreds of homeless onlookers, making sure none of them ruined Getty’s picture-perfect frame.

For the Saturday nuptials, Getty paid the San Francisco County Sheriff’s Office a hefty $42,314 — which presumably helped cover the cost of keeping homeless populations out of the way and clearing the tents, trash, human feces, and heroin needles lining the streets — all so she and celebrity photographer Tobias Engel could have their fairytale wedding, complete with plenty of California elites.

Officiated by Nancy Pelosi

A maskless House Speaker Nancy Pelosi officiated the ceremony. Pelosi has been one of California’s staunchest advocates for mask-wearing policies, such as those mandating the facial restraints for children age 5-17 in schools. But when you’re at a lavish billionaire wedding, rules don’t apply. Especially if you’re the one making them.

Although the exact price of Getty’s wedding is unknown (the bride has a nondisclosure agreement with event planner Stanlee Gatti Designs), public records show that the couple spent at least $100,000 on engineering expenses, security detail, and rental fees alone. That doesn’t include the private concert from band Earth, Wind, & Fire at San Francisco’s most elusive music venue, the Palace of Fine Arts, or the picnic lunch at the Log Cabin on Presidio, complete with IV drips for guests who partied too hard the night before, or the Michelin-star rehearsal dinner, or the multiple custom couture gowns Getty wore throughout the weekend.

It also doesn’t include the Fairmont Hotel penthouse suite — which costs a whopping $18,000 — that Getty got ready in. The expensive hotel, located in the Nob Hill neighborhood, is just a few blocks away from Chinatown, where homeless tents are more common than apartment buildings.

Despite her role in the wedding, Pelosi has repeatedly ripped into billionaire wealth, saying “our economic system” has resulted from the “exploitation” of the working class.

“Corporations and special interests are given special treatment, while hard-working Americans are ignored,” Pelosi’s website states. “Working people from the heartland to the cities are struggling to succeed in a rigged economy and a system stacked against them.”

The Getty family amassed their $5.4 billion fortune after petroleum industrialist J. Paul Getty started Getty Oil in 1942. Days after the exclusive wedding, Pelosi attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Scotland to reaffirm “our shared belief that the climate crisis is an existential threat to the world that requires a just transition to clean energy economies,” the politician tweeted.

Reported In Attendance: Gavin Newsom

California Gov. Gavin Newsom was missing in action for days before local outlets started reporting that he turned up at Getty’s wedding ceremony. The last time he was seen in public was Oct. 27, when the governor received a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot. Soon after that, Newsom canceled his trip to the COP26 summit for “family obligations.”

“It’s funny how certain folks can’t handle truth,” his wife Jennifer Siebel Newsom wrote on Twitter. “When someone cancels something, maybe they’re just in the office working; maybe in their free time they’re at home with their family, at their kids’ sports matches, or dining out with their wife. Please stop hating and get a life.”

The Getty family has backed Newsom since he ran for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1998 and has contributed about half a million dollars to his campaigns. Ivy’s grandparents, Gordon and Ann Getty, reportedly viewed the politician as a son.

“It all goes back to the Gettys as far as Gavin is concerned,” said Jerry Roberts, former managing editor of the San Francisco Chronicle, in 2018.

Mayor London Breed, Police Defunder

San Francisco Mayor London Breed also reportedly attended the luxe event — and Breed has a record of kicking homeless people out of her elite vicinity.

“Man sleeping on bench on Hayes st near gough. Can someone come ASAP. I’m in the area having lunch,” read a message from Breed to her chief of staff and others on August 22, 2019.

Breed announced a plan last year to cut $120 million from the police and sheriff’s department budget. But less than a year later, due to rising crime rates, the mayor appeared to regret her decision and pushed to reinforce police presence in high-crime neighborhoods. Lucky for her, there was a strong police presence at Getty’s wedding to keep the billionaire’s estimated 700 guests safe from the poor people.

Also Present: Royalty, Hollywood Elite, Millionaires

California’s representatives partied with “The Queen’s Gambit” actress and maid-of-honor Anya Taylor-Joy, woke singer Olivia Rodrigo, and fashion designers Wes Gordon and Mimi Wade, to name a few. Multiple royal family members were in attendance as well, including Greece and Denmark’s Constantine Alexios, Maria Olympia, and Prince Odysseas-Kimon.

“Rules for thee, but not for me” doesn’t begin to cover the mass hypocrisy spread by Golden State elites. Let’s not forget who the politicians represent — Californians, not their A-list seatmates at the most exclusive wedding of the season.

Behind the mirage of Getty’s immaculate wedding are children struggling to breathe behind cloth muzzles, jobs at stake because of a medically coercive mandate, and homeless masses littering San Francisco with urine, needles, and trash.

You and I and the thousands of homeless men, women, and children lining the streets of San Francisco don’t matter — unless we’re blocking their red carpets.
