On this episode of The Federalist Radio Hour, Spencer Brown, spokesman for Young America’s Foundation, joins Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky to discuss how the culture on college campuses and in academia will be affected by a Joe Biden administration and the possible return of kangaroo courts, emphasis on Title IX, and the fight for free speech.

College campuses, Brown said, are important to keep an eye on because they often foreshadow what is coming next for the people in communities off-campus.

“The larger American discussion, whether it be in the news media or wherever, does focus on college campuses and what’s going on there, but only at certain points and it’s only when things kind of reach like this critical mass where all of a sudden things kind of bubble over outside of campuses,” he said.

One of the biggest battles in higher education right now, Brown said, is the fight against wokeness and promotion of free speech.

“These leftist sort of ideas and beliefs and the orthodoxy is constantly changing, so no one is safe,” he said. “We’ve seen that before. Anyone can be cancelled at any time whether they’re woke today or woke yesterday, they’re still not safe.”
