John Yoo is a professor at Berkeley Law and co-author of the new book, “Striking Power: How Cyber, Robots, and Space Weapons Change the Rules for War.” Yoo joins the Federalist Radio Hour to discuss the ethical, political, and practical implications of technology and artificial intelligence in the military.

“There’s a lot of political fighting behind it that’s used to attack the West and the way we fight war,” Yoo said. “The Western countries use technology to reduce civilian casualties, to keep harm to as low as possible.”

Later in the hour, Yoo shares his perspective as a Berkeley resident on this week’s protests against Ben Shapiro. “It’s self-selection. It has a reputation for this stemming from the Vietnam war.”
