On the same day congressional Democrats refused to publicly affirm their commitment to American citizens over illegal aliens, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) arrested illegal aliens convicted of murder, sexual assault, and other brutal crimes.

During President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address, he invited “every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”

Apparently not a single Democrat stood, though Republicans did.

“Last night, there was a clear contrast of who President Trump and Secretary Noem are fighting for versus who sanctuary politicians are,” Deputy Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis told The Federalist. “We are fighting for the victims of illegal alien crime and will always put AMERICAN CITIZENS before illegal aliens.”

The illegal aliens arrested on the same day as Democrats’ SOTU stunt included men with convictions for murder, sexual acts against a child, and aggravated assault, The Federalist can exclusively reveal.

Jesus Morales-Bonet, an illegal alien from Cuba previously convicted of murder, “solicitation/murder for hire,” drug trafficking, and “escape of a penal institution,” was arrested Tuesday in Chicago, Illinois, according to DHS. Another Cuban national here illegally, Jorge Martinez-Casado, was arrested in Miami, Florida. Martinez-Casado had been convicted “for battery on a police officer/corrections/firefighter/transit,” DHS said.

Authorities also arrested Yousif Suliman in Des Moines, Iowa, an illegal alien from Sudan who had been convicted for “sexual acts against a child and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.”

Ketrat Pakiu, an illegal alien from the Federated States of Micronesia, was arrested in Hagatna, Guam. Pakiu was convicted for “first-degree criminal sexual conduct (penetration) — incest,” according to DHS.

Jose Escamilia-Flores, who was “convicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and endangering the welfare of a child” was arrested Tuesday in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Escamilia-Flores is originally from Mexico, according to DHS.

Bis said the department will not stop fighting to remove criminal illegal aliens.

“While sanctuary politicians refuse to put the safety of American citizens first, our officers were risking their lives arresting murderers, pedophiles, and depraved sexual predators. We will not stop fighting for the arrest and removal of criminal illegal aliens who have no right to be in our country,” Bis said in a statement.

Trump called out Democrats during his address for impeding the fight to remove illegal aliens, saying that Democrats have “cut off all funding for the Department of Homeland Security.”

“They have instituted another Democrat shutdown. … They have closed the agency responsible for protecting Americans from terrorists and murderers. Tonight, I’m demanding the full and immediate restoration of all funding for the border security, Homeland Security of the United States, and also for helping people clean up their snow,” the president said.

Senate Democrats have blocked Republican efforts to fund DHS as they demand negotiations on ICE, leading to a partial shutdown. Rep. Daniel Webster, R-Fla., said in a Facebook post that a “shutdown of DHS will have no impact on ICE and immigration enforcement, but Democrats continue to ignore the facts.”

“They are holding essential funding hostage,” Webster continued.

Trump also implored Democrats to “end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who block the removal of criminal aliens, in many cases, drug lords, murderers all over our country.”
