Mitchell A. Silk served as assistant secretary for international markets at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 2019 to 2021 and is chairman emeritus of the Agudath Israel Pro Bono Legal Services Network. He was the first Chassidic Jew to be confirmed by the Senate to a senior U.S. government position and has three children presently in Chassidic yeshivas in Brooklyn, New York.
