Dr. Cecil E. Bohanon is a professor of economics at Ball State University. He obtained his B.A. from Wilmington College (Ohio) and his PhD from Virginia Tech, where he studied under Nobel Prize-winning economist James Buchanan. He is co-author with Michelle Vachris of “Pride and Profit: the Intersection of Jane Austin and Adam Smith.”
Not widely read until after her untimely passing at age 41, Jane Austen’s works became popular around 15 years later, were all republished in 1832, and have not gone out of print since.
