Actress Gina Carano will be producing and starring in a new film for the Daily Wire in her first movie endeavor since she was forced to leave Disney Plus’s “The Mandalorian.”

The action thriller movie will be based on Eric Red’s novel “White Knuckle” which follows an iron-willed woman’s journey to track down a serial killer with the help of a long-haul trucker. According to the Daily Wire, the movie will take after movies like “Duel,” “Breakdown,” and “True Grit.”

Lucasfilm fired “The Mandalorian” star in February after a mob came after her for sharing a post on social media warning against hating people for having different political views. Shortly after, Carano partnered with the Daily Wire “to develop and produce my own film.”

“This has been a year full of so many changes and I am excited to embrace this chapter of my life with The Daily Wire in starting production on our first film,” Carano said in an exclusive comment to The Daily Wire. “I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to take this first big step into living my dream and continuing the quest of telling stories and opening up opportunities for other artists from every walk of life.”

Producers are Dallas Sonnier, Amanda Presmyk of Bonfire Legend, Tony Timpone, and Carano. David Guglielmo is in charge of casting which begins now.

The movie will begin filming in October, splitting time between Tennesse, Montana, and Utah, before releasing a trailer to the public by February. As of right now, the film, which is expected to be released in the first quarter of 2022, will stay exclusive to The Daily Wire and only be available to their members.
