Lyman: District Court’s Blocking Of Texas Congressional Map Was Judicial Tyranny

“Texans did have their say, they voted in their state legislators who then went forward and redistricted Texas’ maps, so this is actually the will of the constituents, and [the maps help] reflect population changes,” The Federalist’s Brianna Lyman said on Fox News Live when asked to respond to Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s statement that Texans have the “final” say on the new congressional maps.

“And that is legal and fair … What’s not fair is when two lower court judges try and usurp the authority of the duly elected Texas state legislature to reject those maps. That is judicial tyranny, that is judicial activism, and it flies in the face of the idea that we have three coequal branches of government in which the judicial branch does not have the final say to rubber-stamp what the executive or legislative branch decides to do.”
