Chris Fenton is a Hollywood executive and author of the new book “Feeding the Dragon: Inside the Trillion Dollar Dilemma Facing Hollywood, the NBA, & American Business.” Fenton joins Culture Editor Emily Jashinsky on another edition of The Federalist Radio Hour to discuss Hollywood’s relationship with China.

Fenton argues there needs to be a fundamental reform in the way Hollywood and American businesses work with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“The fact is, [the coronavirus pandemic] is a real reset. If we’re going to bring back supply chains, if we’re going to bring back national security interests that are produced over seas, if we’re going to take a stand on censorship issues… if we’re really going to focus on things like [the CCP’s] forced joint ventures that they make every company do,” Fenton said.

“For instance, how about the fact that Disney opens up their theme park, we’re all celebrating about that there in Shanghai, but no one’s talking about the fact that the Chinese government owns 57 percent of that entity. 57 cents of every dollar goes to the Chinese government, not Disney.”
