On this episode of the The Federalist Radio Hour, classical liberal and political commentator Dave Rubin joins Ben Domenech to discuss his first book “Don’t Burn This Book: Thinking for Yourself in an Age of Unreason.”

Rubin explains that although he wrote the book prior to the coronavirus outbreak, the essential principles he explores in the book have become extremely relevant to issues surrounding the current pandemic.

“The ideas that I talk about in this book of limited government, state’s rights, of individual responsibility and individual rights of personal responsibility. All of these things, they’re so relevant right now,” Rubin said.

“The Fourth Amendment, the right to assemble, which in effect is suspended right now. And we can say, ‘Well that’s okay temporarily because of the virus,’ or we can debate whether it should be done at a state-by-state level, or whether it’s actually constitutional to do at all. But, that really was my idea behind the book. I wanted to go through what I believe are time tested ideas that have been churned through the generations.”
