Americans throughout several southeastern states are enduring catastrophic devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. So naturally, America’s lamebrain Democrat president and vice president are missing in action.
After making landfall in Florida late last week, the Category 4 hurricane ripped across the Southeast over the weekend, producing massive flooding and mudslides. At least 110 people across six states are reported to have been killed as of Sunday night, according to The New York Times.
Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee were among the regions hardest hit by the storm. According to the Associated Press, residents in Asheville, North Carolina, had to be airlifted from a hospital due to floodwaters engulfing entire roadways throughout the city.
Yet, despite such widespread suffering among the people they were elected to serve, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris — the latter of whom is running to be our next president — seem to have bigger things to worry about.
As my colleague Tristan Justice noted, Biden spent most of his weekend lounging around on Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. Meanwhile, Harris reportedly attended a campaign event in San Francisco on Saturday and a fundraiser in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon. She concluded her weekend at a political rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sunday night.
The White House has issued statements from both Democrats and a “fact-sheet” on what actions it’s supposedly taking to help local officials address the crises.
But beyond their truth-deprived base, those of us who’ve closely watched this dumpster fire of an administration for the past three and half years know better than to believe that Biden and Harris are actively managing the federal government’s Helene response. If anything, many Americans have accepted the unfortunate reality of major policy decisions being made by an unelected Democrat oligarchy.
Neither Biden nor Harris has the stamina or capability required to direct a government-wide disaster response. Both Democrats have demonstrated on multiple occasions they possess worse management skills than Dunder Mifflin’s Michael Scott. Does the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal ring a bell for anyone?
Under this administration, the U.S. presidency has become a Potemkin village. Biden and Harris are trotted out to give big speeches and attend formal events with world leaders, but nobody with a lick of commonsense genuinely believes either one is really running the show. Think of them as the real-life version of the Wizard in “The Wizard of Oz.”
But don’t take my word for it. Look no further than Biden, who’s repeatedly said he’ll get “in trouble” with White House staffers for going off script. I’m sorry, but since when does the president take orders from unelected bureaucrats?
Should — heaven forbid — Harris win this November, Americans can continue to expect their country to be run by these same unelected left-wing forces. If they won’t allow her to regularly engage with friendly media who throw her softball questions, they’re sure as heck not going to allow her near the powers that come with the U.S. presidency.
America can’t afford another four years of a Potemkin president who cares more about shipping endless amounts of taxpayer money to Ukraine than the suffering of her own citizens. Whether enough Americans believe that to be true will be learned soon enough.
