‘Liar!’ Republicans Epically Fact-Check Biden’s Social Security and Medicare Fear Mongering In Real-Time

Had the GOP not fact-checked the president in real-time, the propaganda press would likely promote and validate Biden’s lie even further.

President Joe Biden tried claiming that Republicans are attempting to cut Medicare and Social Security during his State of the Union address Tuesday, to which the right side of the aisle responded in raucous booing, with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene yelling out “liar!”

The Republican’s visceral response to Biden’s false claim threw the president off-script, causing him to stumble with his words and eventually walk back his entire statement. “That means Congress doesn’t vote. I am glad you see ya — no, I tell ya, I enjoy conversion,” stuttered Biden. “You know, it means that if Congress doesn’t keep the programs the way they are, those programs will go away — other Republicans say — I’m not saying it’s a majority of you, I don’t even think it is significant. But it’s being proposed by individuals. I’m not — politely not — naming them, but it’s being proposed by some of you.”

Of course, the reason the president isn’t naming names is that there aren’t any. No congressional Republicans are planning to cut Social Security or Medicare. This is a classic, dishonest Democrat scare tactic

Eventually, the president backed down entirely from his big lie, conceding that no one wants to get rid of Social Security or Medicare. “So folks, as we all apparently agree, Social Security and Medicare is off the books now, right?” said Biden, prompting the GOP to erupt in victorious applause because the president had essentially abandoned his entire narrative. “All right. We got unanimity,” continued Biden. “So tonight, let’s all agree — and we apparently are — let’s stand up for seniors.”

Had the GOP not fact-checked the president in real-time, the propaganda press would likely have promoted and validated Biden’s lie even further. Fortunately, thanks to the gusto of congressional Republicans, the takeaway from Biden’s Social Security and Medicare fear-mongering will not be imaginary GOP cuts, but instead all the booing, MTG calling Biden a liar, and the president ultimately renouncing his own narrative.
