Ron DeSantis Isn’t Scared Of Mickey Mouse Or Any Corporate Interests Targeting Florida Parents

Disney CEO Bob Chapek may have caved to woke employees demanding the company condemn a parental rights bill in Florida but Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is not backing down.

Despite mounting pressure from the White House, leftists, the corrupt press, and now the Mouse, DeSantis refuses to surrender to the mob demanding that he ditch concerned parents.

“The chance that I am going to back down from my commitment to students and back down from my commitment to parents’ rights simply because of fraudulent media narratives or pressure from woke corporations, the chances of that are zero,” DeSantis announced this week.

Republicans in the Sunshine State first introduced the “Parental Rights in Education” bill to reinforce that parents are entitled to information recorded by a school about their children’s well-being, student records, and classroom materials. The legislation also allows parents to sue school districts that encourage inappropriate discussions about sexual orientation or gender identity in kindergarten through third-grade classrooms.

It’s a bill that largely focuses on ensuring parents still have a hand in making key decisions for their kids, but leftist activists aided by the corrupt corporate media quickly misconstrued the legislation’s purpose beyond banning radical gender ideology from young classrooms and dubbed it with the “Don’t Say Gay” misnomer. The propaganda press also compared the bill’s aims to those of state-sponsored Russian censors while Democrats across the nation screamed “gay.”

Even the White House, which is not foreign to taking shots at DeSantis, condemned the legislation as “cruel” and “harmful.”

Disney joined the DeSantis dogpile this week after some of the Mouse’s employees demanded the company oppose it. The company’s allegations that the bill “could be used to unfairly target gay, lesbian, nonbinary and transgender kids and families,” however, haven’t shaken DeSantis who pledged to stand up for parents no matter how much pressure he faces from a company.

Disney may be the largest employer in Orlando but DeSantis said the money, power, and influence a woke corporation like Disney may think it has over him will never be prioritized above the interests of Floridians.

“Companies that have made a fortune … catering to families and young kids should understand that parents of young kids don’t want this injected into their kid’s kindergarten classroom,” DeSantis explained. “Our policy’s going to be based on the best interest of Florida citizens, not the musing of woke corporations.”

Other Republican governors at the behest of corporate interests have compromised on conservative issues before but DeSantis has no interest in hurting his constituents to do favors for companies that do business with Communist China.

“How do they possibly explain lining their pockets with their relationship from the Communist Party of China? Because that’s what they do, and they make a fortune, and they don’t say a word about the really brutal practices that you see over there at the hands of the CCP,” DeSantis noted in his criticism of Disney.

Even though every elite force allied themselves against him, DeSantis is choosing to champion parents who were targeted by the Biden administration and smeared as domestic terrorists for caring about their kids’ education.

Over the last two years, parents’ worries were swept under the rug while educational institutions and tyrannical politicians catered to teachers unions. Childrens’ best interests were pushed to the side and replaced with ridiculous Covid measures, critical race theory, and other leftist teachings but DeSantis is fighting back.

By standing up to Disney and every other institution that tried to shame him for his plans to sign the parental rights bill, DeSantis is showing Florida and other Americans that the culture war is not lost, they still have a voice, and he’s going to fight for them no matter the cost.
