No Matter How Peaceful The American Freedom Convoy Is, Our Corrupt Regime Will Demonize It

Like the many people who only peacefully protested at the Capitol on Jan. 6, the truckers will be smeared as domestic terrorists by the Biden administration and media.

The fate of the American trucker convoy has already been decided by President Joe Biden and his allies who, despite promises from the Freedom Convoy protesters that they will remain peaceful, are already painting them as domestic threats.

The bulk of American truckers and allies will not officially launch their journey to Washington, D.C., until March 1, but officials in the nation’s capital have already gone to extreme lengths to ensure that the Americans uniting for freedom from the tyranny that has wreaked havoc on the nation for the last two years feel anything but welcomed.

The American Freedom Convoy has pledged to keep their protests peaceful and deter bad actors, but their promises have fallen on deaf ears. No matter how peaceful the protesters are, they will be smeared by the increasingly corrupt government for being a “threat.” Already, government officials in D.C. are ramping up security and bracing for far more than what is expected from the group of truckers.

The United States Capitol Police announced last week that it is “closely coordinating with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies” and is even discussing adding a fence around the Capitol. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also ordered at least 700 National Guard troops to the capital city ahead of the convoy’s expected arrival.

Even Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee pledged his officers would work overtime to combat what he said will be “disruptions to traffic, that kind of thing.”

“I think we need to be very candid with the public about what some of the expectations, based upon what we’ve seen in Ottawa, that we might see here in the District,” he told the Associated Press.

While D.C. officials panic, Biden has every reason to embrace the thousands of blue-collar workers he claims to support — but he won’t. Already, the Biden administration showed discomfort with the Canadian Freedom Convoy by pressuring the Trudeau government to crack down on its citizens. Much like Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did at the beginning of the Ottowa controversy, the White House has already painted the imminent U.S. convoy as a threat that requires federal attention and law enforcement.

“We have been working … closely with our federal, state, and local partners to continuously assess the threat environment and keep our communities safe,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters this week. “And our efforts include enhanced intelligence sharing, a Critical Incident Response Plan for the U.S. Capitol, a regional security assessment, and a simulation experiment that developed data-driven recommendations to bolster regional security.”

Trudeau similarly signaled his disdain for the original Freedom Convoy long before the peak of the movement in Ottowa because he believed they held “unacceptable views.”

“The small fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa, who are holding unacceptable views that they are expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians,” Trudeau said during a press conference in January.

Trudeau didn’t lend the truckers a listening ear when he should have. Instead, the prime minister fled his Ottowa residence and hid in an undisclosed location before invoking the Emergencies Act. Then he smeared the movement on Twitter and accused the Freedom Convoy of harboring racist vandals. Other government officials, taking notes from the Democrats’ Jan. 6 committee in the House, labeled the convoy a “nationwide insurrection.”

As the situation in Canada revealed, there is a rising global push to normalize governments attacking their political opponents. The American truckers and protesters have every right to believe their cause is justified and supported by many people at home and abroad, as it was in Canada, yet the Biden administration and D.C. officials will still use it to discredit conservatives.

Before the truckers have even started their trek to D.C., Democrats have already decided the fate of the American Freedom Convoy. The truckers’ only goal should be to peacefully protest the tyranny that was normalized during Covid and show how our corrupt regime reacts.

Unfortunately, it isn’t too hard to imagine how, much like the many people who did not riot at the Capitol but peacefully protested on Jan. 6, the truckers will be smeared as domestic terrorists and labeled the next group of insurrectionists who seek to undermine American democracy.
