The Left Doesn’t Just Want More Criminals On The Streets. It Also Wants Police To Be Scared Of Doing Their Jobs

The left is keen on letting criminals, even those who ransacked the nation’s cities in 2020, off the hook in the name of social justice. Now, that same left is trying to deter law enforcement from doing their jobs by denying officers who fought off violent 2020 rioters legal representation while U.S. attorneys lobby to let agitators off scot-free.

At least one federal employee who sought legal representation from President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice after being sued for protecting the federal courthouse during the 2020 summer-of-rage riots was denied by the legal agency. After Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., threatened to stall any Biden administration DOJ nominees due to the agency’s unwillingness to represent a federal agent for doing his or her duties and defending government property from rioters, the DOJ admitted that’s exactly what it had done but did not apologize.

“These courageous officers were attacked by left-wing street militants with weapons such as mortar fire, ball bearings, and blinding lasers,” Cotton wrote in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland. “A refusal to represent these Deputy Marshals would violate the Department’s long-standing practice — not to mention its moral duty — to defend law-enforcement officers when they’re sued for actions in the line of duty.”

For years, progressive district attorneys have ushered in a new era of lax policies that let criminals accused of violent and destructive crimes back onto the streets. This has led crime in U.S. cities to worsen dramatically.

Instead of prosecuting the thousands of rioters who sacked cities across the nation during the 2020 summer of rage, federal prosecutors have ignored the $2 billion rioting damages and quietly dismissed charges against dangerous and destructive rioters in Portland, D.C., and other cities. Among those whom U.S. attorneys asked to be spared of federal criminal charges was a transgender rioter in Portland who intentionally attacked law enforcement officers using a laser.

Many of these violent rioters, who were bailed out on the recommendation of now-Vice President Kamala Harris and progressive-backed initiatives implemented by leftist DAs, were free to walk despite looting, rioting, and burning businesses and government buildings.

While more than 700 people have been arrested in connection to the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, the FBI only arrested “just north of 250 people” for “violence that we all saw around the peaceful protests,” as Assistant Director of the FBI’s national security branch Jill Sanborn said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing this month.

Americans are rightfully outraged about these pro-criminal policies and actions, but their concerns about “soft-on-crime” DAs and criminals in the streets are routinely mocked by Biden’s White House.

The Biden administration, Democrats, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s rigged Jan. 6 commission love heaping accusations on Republicans for the actions of people who spent hours at the Capitol. On the other hand, rioters who spent months destroying cities and personal property get a pat on the back from leftists while police officers struggle to do their jobs and keep the public safe.

The left wants control and will target anyone who undermines their goal. That’s why they sicced the mob on armed civilians such as Kyle Rittenhouse. Leftists already endorsed letting anarchists run rampant in the streets and have deterred law enforcement officers from doing what they were hired to do. And they don’t want people such as Rittenhouse getting in their way.
