Just because the corporate media and White House are ignoring President Joe Biden’s border circus doesn’t mean the crisis has disappeared. In fact, problems stemming from the southern U.S. border are only growing as the Biden administration turns a blind eye to its open border failures.

From the time Biden assumed office in January of 2021 to the end of the year, more than 2 million arrests were made as illegal aliens found their way across the border, often aided and funded by the United Nations. In December alone, U.S. Customs and Border Protection apprehended a record-breaking 178,840 illegal aliens at the southern border, marking another gloomy beginning to the second year of Biden’s presidency. Already, CBP numbers indicate that apprehension on the U.S.-Mexico border in the 2022 fiscal year will exceed 2 million.

Despite these alarming numbers, the Biden administration is shrugging off the crisis and the effect it is having on states.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who is supposed to represent the voice of the president, didn’t have answers for Fox News reporter Peter Doocy this week when he noted that many of the illegal aliens who are apprehended at the border are then released “unsupervised” into the U.S. and don’t report to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement offices despite being instructed to do so.

Instead of being transparent about what’s happening on the U.S.-Mexico border, the federal government directed border security agents to literally cover up the ongoing alien releases.

In a recent meeting with U.S. Border Patrol agents, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted that large surges of illegal migrants at the southern border have overwhelmed border security efforts, making the crisis “worse now than it, frankly, has been in at least 20 years” but did not apologize for the Biden administration’s policies that sparked the influx.

“I know the policies of this administration are not particularly popular with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, but that’s the reality and let’s see what we can do within that framework,” Mayorkas said in an audio recording obtained by Townhall.

Mayorkas claimed that the United States is attempting negotiations with Mexico to staunch the flow of illegal immigration into the country, but his non-answers for the growing border problems were met with disgust and disapproval by border agents.

“You said you’re going to change it, the only thing that’s changed is it’s gotten worse,” one agent stated.

States are rightfully fed up with the administration’s weak attempts to justify the U.S. open border, and many have promised to take action. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, already deployed National Guard members to assist with border security efforts. This week, The Daily Caller reported that Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt demanded the Biden administration end its policy that allows illegal aliens to use arrest warrants as IDs at airports. Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita also recently pledged to investigate “illegal immigration’s impact on Hoosiers.”

While Biden’s border problems worsen at home, the president is preoccupied with defending Ukraine’s borders against Russia and picking a new U.S. Supreme Court justice to replace Justice Stephen Breyer following news of his impending retirement. By not taking action to curb the crisis he created, Biden is only exacerbating the disastrous and dangerous border circus.
