Democrat lawmakers are firing off anti-Israel tirades on Twitter while the radical Islamist group Hamas rains bombs on Israel.

Rep. Jamaal Bowman, a freshman Democrat from New York, is one of many leftist politicians using the newest development in the Israeli and Palestinian conflict to spread Hamas talking points. In a statement released on Tuesday, Bowman condemned Israel for the “infringement of human civil rights” of Palestinians and touted a two-state system as a solution to end the violence.

His words in support of Palestine and track record of criticizing Israel, as Tablet Magazine notes, comes on the heels of his condemnation of a string of hate crimes, vandalism, and other damages at multiple synagogues in New York targeting Jews. Just weeks before Bowman condemned the Jewish nation of Israel, Bowman released a joint statement with other politicians in support of the Jewish community.

“No one should be attacked or living in fear because of their race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation,” he said. “The threat towards synagogues and other Jewish institutions is real and we must treat these issues head-on. Jewish people have been the victims of hate crimes and persecution for centuries, and this week’s events are a somber reminder that we must all be vigilant in weeding out antisemitism.”

Other progressive legislators such as squad members Rep. Ilhan Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib tweeted anti-Israel remarks.

“Israeli airstrikes killing civilians in Gaza is an act of terrorism. Palestinians deserve protection. Unlike Israel, missile defense programs, such as Iron Dome, don’t exist to protect Palestinian civilians. It’s unconscionable to not condemn these attacks on the week of Eid,” Omar tweeted on Monday.

“American taxpayer money is being used to commit human rights violations. Congress must condition the aid we send to Israel and end it altogether if those conditions are not followed. Statements aren’t working @SecBlinken. Enough is enough,” Tlaib tweeted.

Tlaib has a history of sympathizing with anti-Israel groups that endorse terrorism in the name of Palestine. She, along with Omar, were blocked from visiting Israel following their apologist stance on Palestinian terror against Israel and Jews. The U.S. representative hailing from Michigan has also promoted an international Pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement (BDS) against Israel, which the Trump administration formally labeled as antisemitic.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex also weighed in to say that Israel was “inflicting violence” in “inhumane” ways.

“We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah in East Jerusalem. Israeli forces are forcing families from their homes during Ramadan and inflicting violence. It is inhumane and the US must show leadership in safeguarding the human rights of Palestinians,” AOC wrote.

Twenty-five House Democrats signed a letter Wednesday demanding US Secretary of State Antony Blinken denounce Israel’s actions in the fight over land in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
