After years of public feuding, Taylor Swift and her longtime rival Katy Perry have called a truce. But that doesn’t mean T-Swift has buried the hatchet with everyone for good.

While kicking off her stadium world tour for her album “Reputation” Tuesday night, Taylor showed fans a letter from Katy paired with a literal olive branch. In the letter, the “Swish Swish” singer apparently asked Taylor if they could let bygones be bygones. It appears the “Bad Blood” singer has accepted the apology, as she posted a photo of the letter and branch with the caption “Thank you Katy” paired with heart emojis in her Instagram story.

But this doesn’t mean Taylor is doling out forgiveness left and right. During her performance later that night, she called out Kim Kardashian West (though not by name) for calling her a snake on social media.

“A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on,” she said. “And then a lot of people called me a lot of names on social media. And I went through some really low times for a while because of it. I went through some times when I didn’t know if I was gonna get to do this anymore.”

“I wanted to send a message to you guys that if someone uses name-calling to bully you on social media and even if a lot of people jump on board with it, that doesn’t have to beat you,” she continued. “It can strengthen you instead.”

In her music video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” the first single released from her latest album, there’s snakes all throughout. This is Taylor’s attempt at reclaiming the name she’s been called and making it her own. So it makes sense that she’s not willing to drop the tension between her and the reality TV star just yet.

Her comments last night have generated a firestorm of media attention — attention that definitely doesn’t hurt her when she has stadium seats all around the world to fill. Taylor is being practical about which rivalries she’s dropping and which she’s prolonging. But really, who can blame her?

Will Taylor keep teasing out the feud between her and Kim? Will there be more snake imagery and references? We’ll have to wait and see.
