Jonathan Coppage, visiting senior fellow with the R Street Institute where he researches urbanism and the built environment, joins host Gracy Olmstead on this episode of Federalist Radio. They discuss the ways that design can have impact on our communities and neighborhoods.

“Building a house to engage and to face the street is the first step of reviving a public space,” he said. “Having a public space that orients people towards it is not just part of good community foundation…it’s part of public safety.”

They discuss Jane Jacobs, Wendell Berry, and others who have written about the spaces in which we live.
