At the 44th annual March for Life in Washington DC, Rep. Mia Love (R-Utah) brought many to tears with an emotional speech.

Love opened by speaking about a couple who immigrated to the United States from Haiti and were forced to leave two of their children behind. While they were making their way to the United States, the couple found out they were pregnant and considered abortion.

“Forty-one years ago, that couple could have made the choice to abort, but they didn’t. They chose life,” she said, referring to herself. “I’m certain that this couple would never have thought that that child would become the first female, black, Republican member elected to Congress.”

“Every time we kill a child through abortion, we kill our potential,” Love said. “Every time we kill a child, we, all of us suffer. We lose a little of ourselves and a whole lot of our future.”

“We cannot accept what might have been if we allow an organization to convince women they have no choice but to abort the life and the potential within them,” she said, referring to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.

“May we never ever allow our funds to pay for the death of young children,” Love concluded. “May God bless you for being here today, and may God bless our pro-life United States of America.”
