On this episode of the Federalist Radio Hour, Emily Yahr, entertainment reporter at The Washington Post, joined Bre Payton to break down all the details of “The Bachelor” and this season’s villains and crazies. They also discuss the backlash against Taylor Swift on social media this weekend and upcoming Oscar nominations.

This season’s most controversial “Bachelor” contestant, Corinne, is known for taking her clothes off and her sexual advances. “The way that [Corinne] is acting is the perfect way to get [Nick’s] attention… the crazier that she is, the more he’s turned on by it,” Payton said. “I think she’s playing the game the right way and the other women are upset because they’re realizing ‘Oh shoot. I ended up in a really crappy season with a really crappy bachelor.'”

While Taylor Swift mostly keeps her political opinions quiet, she has a unique approach to feminism. “A lot of people thought her tweet was all talk and no action and that’s why she was getting so criticized for it,” Yahr said. “She has good intentions when she speaks out about women supporting each other… but on the other hand it’s hard to reconcile with some of her music.”
