In what’s possibly the greatest campaign ad of 2016 (yes, perhaps even trumping this one), Donald Trump speaks Hindi while Indian-American voters cheer him on.
The ad, which is specifically targeted to reach Hindu voters, is a truly bizarre masterpiece. In one frame, Trump is seen praising Hindu people and India, then one second later the screen flashes to images of a 2008 terror attack in Mumbai, and later to an image of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The 29-second video is worth watching in its entirety — make sure to stick around ’til the end to catch Trump repeating a campaign tagline in Hindi from Modi’s 2014 campaign.
Most of the footage in the ad is of Trump speaking at a fundraiser hosted by the Republican Hindu Coalition earlier this month, where he assured Hindu Americans he would minimize the threat of radical Islamic terror.
“The Indian and Hindu community will have a true friend in the White House,” he said. “We will defeat radical Islamic terrorism.”
“We love the Hindus!” Trump exclaims, “We love India!”
