Adam Levine has offered to pay for Christina Grimmie’s funeral after the 22-year-old singer was fatally shot at her own concert in Orlando Friday night. While Grimmie signed merchandise, a young man just walked up and shot her.

The shooter’s motives are unknown at this time. Law enforcement suspect he intended to shoot others, since he was carrying several loaded magazines with him.

Levine, who mentored Christina Grimmie when she competed on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2014, called the family and offered pay for Christina Grimmie’s funeral and airfare for her mother to attend the ceremony. Marcus Grimmie, the late singer’s brother, broke the news on his Facebook page Sunday night.

“Words cannot express…literally I have no words,” he wrote. “I’m so blown away by everything right now. But all I can say is thank you. And Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten.”

Right after his sister was shot, Marcus Grimmie tackled the shooter, and during their struggle the suspect was killed. The GoFundMe page set up to support the Grimmie family in their time of loss has surpassed its initial goal of $4,000. At the time of publication, the page has raised more than $175,000.
