New York Times Skates Close To Apocalyptic Self-Parody

The punchline to an old joke about the New York Times is that if the apocalypse were nigh, the paper’s headline would read “World Ends Tomorrow! Women and Minorities Hardest Hit!”

A friend sent along this image from Monday’s paper that came dangerously close to self-parody:

NYT 3-31-2014

Another friend, however, was disappointed by the pull quote and story. He asked if the Times was “unable to find proof that global warming will exert its strongest wrath on the LGBTQQIA community? Heteronormativity raises its grotesque head yet again.”
